The 49th Annual ACUP conference will be held in Phoenix, AZ

April 6 – April 10, 2014

Sonoran Desert Sunset“Things are different in the desert. The sky is bigger. The stars are brighter. The sunsets stop you in your tracks. America’s sixth-largest city still has real cowboys and rugged mountains and the kind of cactus that inspires. Phoenix is the gateway to the Grand Canyon, and its history is a testament to the spirit of puebloans, ranchers, miners and visionaries. Phoenix — Arizona’s urban heart and America’s sunniest metropolis.”

Recommendations from past conference participants:

  • This brings peer managers together with very similar goals, issues and challenges. I strongly believe that the informal discussions that occur all over the 4 days are the highlight of what I take back.  I can’t think of any in-plant that would not benefit from this event.  All things considered, it is priced reasonably and well worth the cost.
  •  I recommend the conference frequently to both University in-plant managers, and equipment vendor’s. For the most part we all have the same issues because we all work for academic institutions. I feel it provides an efficient use of institutional funds towards managerial development.
  •  ACUP is the forum where we can go and share similar issues among our peers. Whether you are a large sheet/web fed shop or a small digital shop we all share a common thread, and that is proving our importance to our university. This forum is a great tool to help each other understand and learn what works well and what doesn’t. It is also a great time to relax, enjoy great food and entertainment, and fellowship with your industry peers.
  •  The professional contact and support you get form the conference are great. It’s a great combination of professional development and personal enjoyment. It’s fun!
